In the 49er Gold Rush games you are a 49er playing against either a computer opponent or another person. Your goal in the game is to mine more gold that your opponent. You mine gold by turning over rocks to discover gold underneath. Before you can successfully mine gold from under a rock, you have to turn the rock over with the correct "Tool". You pick your Tool from one of the Mining Stores at the bottom of the screen. If your Tool matches the type of Rock, then you can take the gold under the rock (your 49er Miner friends will deliver it to you on the left side of the game screen).

Macintosh Software

The Original Hungry Frog Game Series (MacOS)

In MacOS Hungry Frog games, frogs are endangered species, and the world is overcome with bizarre and unusual bugs. Your frogs must eat as many bugs as possible to get fat, make tadpoles and multiply. Hungry fish compete by eating your helpless tadpoles. Read the on-line Macintosh OS manual, or have a look at student raves to learn more. This little animation shows the basic game set-up (minus fish, tadpoles, sounds, educational content...) [Windows 95]

In this game the user selects words to practice from a 2000 word Latin dictionary with over 3000 corresponding English definitions. Personal dictionaries are automatically saved by player name, and up to 50 different students can have their own personal preferences stored in the game at any one time. As in the other games, internal feedback loops focus on problem words.

LATIN GAME INCORPORATES THESE NEW FEATURES:

Homeric Greek (v2.3) order page

The basic vocabulary for a first year course in Homeric greek is covered in this game. As in the Latin game, the child selects words to practice from a main dictionary (1500 Greek words mapped onto 3000 English definitions). Personal dictionaries are automatically saved by player name, and up to 50 different students can have their own personal preferences stored in the game at any one time. As for the Latin game, internal feedback loops focus on problem words. The game uses the System "symbol" font, so no installation of special fonts is required.
